Wow. Where to begin? Never knew that a site like this even existed. It's great that we can all share our stories with others who have been there. Mine is quirky though and certainly not traditional and aids itself to the fanciful! Hell, it even includes more than one accident which I don't think I can really be held accountable for.
I was driving to work Saturday morning about four or five months ago. I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary. Wasn't speeding except to pass the slow pokes. I was eating my sausage biscuit breakfast thing while singing the score to a well known musical. Yes - I'm oddly wide awake for six in the morning!
I come to my exit. Traffic jam which, for me, is a usual occurrence and I'm used to it. I was sitting there minding my own business when out of nowhere I hear this odd whistling noise. I'm looking around the surrounding area. Cars are passing the traffic line on the left as other cars arrive to join the rest of us. It's the usual humdrum stuff.
I roll down the window and stick my head outside and nothing. I turn off the radio and continue to listen closely and there is still no sign of the noise. My line begins to move and I shrug it off until it gets louder and louder. I'm worried now as it seems to be coming closer.
Driving slowly I'm shocked when this giant blue thing, seeing it from my rearview, nails my trunk and bounces hard into traffic. The cars behind me swerve to avoid this thing, but neglect to avoid each other! Always the case it seems.
Several cars rear ended and one decided to scurry into the oncoming lane cause another couple of accidents! It's all settled down a bit and traffic is completely stopped now due to that one guy who shot into traffic. People are kneading their necks, arms and other parts of their bodies that, apparently, were injured.
I couldn't help but to wonder what would have happened if I would have been several feet back? That thing would have crashed right on me thru my windshield! In hindsight that would have been painful for me but a novelty story for everyone else!
Assuming it was safe to leave my car I cautiously got out. I checked on some of the other drivers who were all confused as I was. I walked to the rear of my car and saw the immense dent where my trunk used to be then I saw it: a blue meteor. I walked over to it and a few others followed. I leaned in close and it was smoking a bit and cold.
I was about to touch the thing when someone called out: "Don't touch that. It's crap".
And it was, too. It seems a plane released its "holdings" and the frozen waste fell from 25,000 feet and, with my luck firmly in place, hit me! The airline paid for my car damages and those of everyone else. Seems they're supposed to drop that junk over water or whatever. Someone messed up.
