OMG, so check this out! I was driving home the other day from work and I almost was in an accident. It was totally freaky!
I was sitting at a light filing my nails and someone honked at me to go. The lights there take FOREVER, so I didn't realize the light had turned green. I was about to step on the gas when this truck went flying across in front of me and then there was a huge bang.
This dude had run the red light and slammed into some old lady. I was really freaked out because that could have been me. I sat there with my mouth hanging open, my hands shaking, and I couldn't drive. Everyone got out of their cars and went running to the lady. The guy in the truck had kept going for a bit and wound up in a ditch down the road and his one truck tire was rolling around on the road.
The poor lady was stuck in her car, but thankfully was alive. I had to get out and look too and the lady had some blood on her arm. About 10 minutes later, a fire truck, cops and an ambulance arrived. The firefighters helped the lady get out of the car on the other side and she sat at the side of the road crying. I felt so bad for her, all she kept saying was that it was a new car. The cops made everyone who was out of their cars go and pull their cars to the side of the road so they could get traffic moving and take statements.
I had to wait almost an hour before they got to me and these two cops came over to me and the one guy was really hot and the other one was old, at least 40 something. The hot one kept smiling at me and asked if I needed a ride home since I was shaken up. I told him I would be ok and then he offered to call me later to make sure I was ok.
After I gave my statement, I made sure to give him my home and cell numbers and told him to call me any time. The cop called me later on in the evening to see how I was. I told him I was doing ok but could use some company and asked if he was free but he was working until midnight, so I was out of luck. I'm hoping he calls me back soon.
I keep thinking this could have been me. If I would have been paying attention, I would have gone right away and that guy in the truck would have hit me instead. It's totally freaking me out still and I have been having nightmares about it. That isn't the first time it happened to me either. One other time I missed the light turning green and someone ran the light and went flying right in front of me. It's really a scary thing, I just hope it doesn't happen again!
