This is a true story from where I live, not mine, but the names have been changed.
It's around the month of December 2001 when the Velasco family came to visit their relatives. The night was full of fun as each family members tried to catch up with what's going on with their relatives' lives. They chatted for a while, laughed and giggled at each other's stories, not knowing that there will be an unexpected accident awaiting the family later that night.
It was 9:00pm to be exact when the Velasco family members said their final goodbyes for the night. They prepared to leave the place by hopping into the pick-up. Their relatives intently watched them as they left and waved goodbye to the Velasco family. The Grandmother of the kids doesn't understand why she had this weird feeling that night. She reminded them to stay safe and giving remarks that they really need to be careful on the road and even told them to call her as soon as they arrived home no matter how late it is.
Mr. Ernie Velasco, the father, thought that it was a bit exaggerated for her mother to say those words. He said "mom, we only live about 20 minutes away from here so don't worry too much, and besides we have made this trip hundreds of times so it should be alright." Grandmother said "I don't know, but you guys have to be really careful because I feel something bad". The father hugged her mom ensuring that everything is going to be okay.
The engine starts and the family had started their journey back home. Mr. and Mrs. Velasco with their youngest son Christian sat in the front seat and since there was no back seat the other two sons sat at the back which is an open air part. Mr. Velasco drove with extra caution adhering to the words of his mom.
When the family was almost nearly home, there was an automobile swerving side to side, probably moving at the speed of 80 kilometers per hour. Mr. Ernie Velasco tried to move away from the road as soon as possible but it was too late. The other automobile hit the Velasco's pick-up in a loud collision, but because of the attempt to move away from the road, the swerving automobile only hit the front left part of the pick-up, scraped all the way along the side up to the driver's seat.
Their wheels went up the side of the Velasco's pick-up causing the fast car flip into the air and land on the ground with its tires up. There were probably 5 people in that car trapped underneath. A few people who have seen the accident immediately acted to provide help to the injured.
Mr. Ernie Velasco went out the pick-up to check on his two sons outside and fortunately they were not harmed, same with his wife and their youngest son. While the other 5 people from the other car were injured with broken bones and cuts. The driver was identified to be drunk that night and was badly injured having blood all over his body.
