Crashed The Car During Driving Lesson

A few years ago when I was learning to drive, on my third or fourth lesson, the car went onto some ice and started to skid along the road. I panicked, lifted my feet off the pedals, let go of the steering wheel and curled up in a ball in the driver's seat, with my head between my knees.
The driving instructor was horrified, of course, and tried to control the car with his dual controls and leaning over to steer the car. We crashed gently into a row of parked cars opposite a cinema. I was too embarrassed to take lessons with him again, which I'm sure he was very pleased about.
